Preston took up modeling at age 15 and upon graduating high school in Toronto, Canada she was discovered by CBS talent scouts. Her first break into television came when she landed the role as
Jill Clayburgh's daughter in the made-for-television movie,
Miles to Go. She continued to appear in a number of offbeat, campy movies including
Pin,
The Brian and
Prom Night III. Preston has also done extensive voice work on a variety of animated projects including the voice of Princess Zelda on the
Mario Bros. series. Over the years, the versatile actress has played the mentally disturbed groupie in
Whale Music, a lost soul in the supernatural thriller
Convergence and the complex wife in the TV series
Total Recall 2070. Preston has also been featured in several television series including
The X Files,
Neon Rider,
My Secret Identity and
The Hitchhiker.
